Privacy policy

Escalator works without accounts, so we hold as little about you as we can. Here is exactly what passes through us.

What we collect

  • The payment details you enter: the destination address and the amount.
  • Information from your bank payment, handled by our open banking provider. That provider authenticates you inside your own banking app.
  • Your email address, only if you choose to give it for a receipt.
  • Basic technical data such as IP address and device type, used for security.

We never see or store your banking login details or full card numbers.

Why we use it

To complete the payment you asked for, to send your receipt, to detect fraud, and to meet our legal and financial-crime obligations. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

Only the partners needed to move the money: our open banking provider, which initiates the bank payment, and our digital asset infrastructure provider, which sends the payment on Base. We also share information with regulators or law enforcement when the law requires it.

Blockchain transactions are public

Transfers on Base are recorded on a public network. The destination address, amount and time are visible to anyone. Your name, email and bank details are never written to the blockchain.

How long we keep it

Payment records are kept for as long as financial regulations require. An email address given for a receipt is kept only for that purpose and can be removed on request.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete anything we are not legally required to keep. Email privacy@escalator.to and we will respond within 30 days.

Cookies

We use only the storage needed to keep a payment working while you are on the page. There is no advertising or cross-site tracking.

This page is maintained by Escalator and is written in plain language for our customers. It is not legal advice and does not replace any agreement you have with your merchant.
